Poetic Recovery

is an open mic that was created by Maurice "Soulfighter" Taylor around 2006 as an open mic to give conscious rap artists a place to express themselves and bring the power of Hip Hop culture back to Black/Brown communities and create bridges to our allied communities. As culture impacts all but racism has complicated that situation. Poetic Recovery always for these open discussions and work our way through these issues.

Poetic Recovery has evolved in to more than jus n open mic and has now  become a multifaceted platform to encourage healing through cultural expression,developing community, and building intentional bridges with allies through discussion and sharing of space and culture for non exploitive and non cultural appropriation means.
