Men's Work: 10 Points for men to participate in and embody to push back against patriarchy, men's violence against women and the queer community and to create a world free of misogynoir (thank you, Dr. Moya Bailey)/misogyny, men's entitlement and oppression and to bring us closer to being grounded in liberation for all.

1) Educate ourselves on what patriarchy is and does

2) Do inner work to check and diminish how we carry patriarchal ideas and behaviors

3) Do communal and group work to support men in learning, growing, resisting patriarchal norms and violence and be supported by other men

4) Seek and sustain therapy work, couseling and other programs, anger management, violence cessation, addiction support and other mental health resources as needed (be willing and open to be supported by trusted loving partners and community in these regards)

5) Intervene when women, LGBTQ2S+ people, children, other men are being assaulted, abused, harmed, manipulated, groomed, trafficked.

6) Observe and interrupt systemic, organizational forms of violence and patriarchal oppression in politics, education, economics, finance, banking, religion, medical institutions, social and community groups, etc,...

7) Support and amplify women's, queer and trans voices and liberation efforts

8) Use social media to illuminate and educate other men about the harm and violence of patriarchy, homophobia, transphobia, racism, mysogynoir (thank you, Dr. Moya Bailey) and how capitalism, environmental racism and destruction, colonialism and imperialism forward and exacerbate those oppressions (this can be as simple as liking, engaging on posts, making supportive comments, pushing back against violent men's voices, sharing good content, all the way to creating your own anti-patriarchal content)

9) Support and join organizations run by women, LGBTQ2S+ people, children's advocates and men that are educating, building membership, creating healthy, supportive, nurturing social, relational anti-patriarchal norms like MenEngage Alliance, Next Gen Men, A Call to Men, B-MEN, Equimundo, NOMAS, numerous social media platform-based groups

10) Understand that the preceding list are good things to do, but are not all there is to do. Know who you are, what your gifts are to the world, contribute to an anti-patriarchal, anti-racist, anti-oppressive society based on consent, radical compassion and love

(If you share or use this list, please reference me. I do no own these ideas, but I created the list and would be interested in being in contact with those that find this list relevant to their work. Thank you)
